Zabeel Stables was first established in Dubai 30 years ago
Zabeel Stables was first established in Dubai 30 years ago against a backdrop of what is now the most exciting and forward thinking (fast developing, progressive) cities in the World.
More than a few Dubai revellers are probably just slipping between their sheets, when Satish is reaching out for his alarm clock.
The time is just before 4.00am and it is the start of another day for the 3 time champion trainer - just as it is for all other trainers who prepare race horses for a great new season. But it is just the beginning of another day, during which in a couple of hours they will see the rising sun, catch a sparkle of the high-rise towers of the city skyline as they carefully scrutinise the work riders putting their team through its paces.
In Satish Seemar, Sheikh Mohammed found someone with experience and a wealth of practical experience in the field of stable design and management.
With its well manicured lawns and trees, many of them selected personally by Satish, Zabeel Stables has the pleasing atmosphere of a European family Estate combined with crisp American efficiency. The flora creates an environment in which his charges are clearly very much at home.
The facilities include a 1800m dirt training track, 100m straight pool and over 90 fully air-conditioned stables, with a further 60 outside stables. To achieve excellence in training and horse welfare, Zabeel Stables is equipped with a specially designed horse spa and the most up to date exercising machines and facilities.

Zabeel Racing Stables opens its doors to the select few
Zabeel Racing Stables, owned by HH SH Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, was until recently, the private race horse training centre for the Maktoum family, and was not open to the public as a training facility. However, with the growth Emirates Racing, Zabeel Racing Stables has now opened the doors to accept a select number of horses owned by private individuals. Those owners fortunate enough to be part of this exclusive establishment are guaranteed first class treatment for their horses, which has been so traditional at Zabeel in the past.
Millennium Stables came under the Zabeel banner in March 2006
Zabeel Racing expanded the day after the 2006 World Cup, when it was announced that Sheikh Rashid's powerhouse operation, Millennium Stables, would come under the tutelage of Satish, meaning an extra 100-plus horses to go to war with.
The facilities at Millennium include a swimming pool and the use of the Nad Al Sheba track to exercise horses.
Training Fees: Dh3,000 per month per horse (includes stabling, grooming, feed, full training)
Veterinary Fees: Invoices are sent to owners directly from the Dubai Equine Hospital and are not included in the training fees.
Racing Accounts are opened with the Emirates Racing Association for each new owner which are charged with all registrations and entries (0.1% of total prize money) and counterbalanced by prize-money won.
