It is a proven fact that Dubai is among the most profitable centres in the world to own a racehorse.

This was confirmed in 2001 at the annual meeting of the International Federation of Horse Racing Association in Paris who ranked Dubai, UAE second of all the established racing nations in what owners receive in return for the costs of keeping their horse in training. On average AED 230 is returned for every AED 100 spent on upkeep and training for each horse.

In 2004 the Dubai Racing Club launched the Dubai International Carnival - The world's largest international racing carnival.

Generous prize money, world class facilities and the perfect climate, together with races to suit all classes of horses, from maidens through to group 1 events, make Dubai the ideal centre in which to race a horse. Nad Al Sheba racecourse is the UAE's flagship track and is run by by Emirates Racing Association. This racecourse is 2,200m long and 21m wide, left handed, dirt / sand based circuit with a home stretch run of 3 furlongs. There is a six furlong straight and two chutes for races over 1,600m and 2,000m. The track is floodlit to enable meetings to be held in the evening.

Nad Al Sheba has grown to become one of the best race courses in the world

Nad Al Sheba has grown to become one of the best race courses in the world, benefitting its position as the venue for the world's richest race, the Dubai World Cup. The Dubai racing season begins in November and continues throughout the end of April. During the evening of the races which tend to start at 7.00pm guests can take advantage of the excellent hospitality on offer, and can enjoy dinner or drinks with a view of all the racing action from the Maktoum and the Millennium grandstands.
